Trinity Christian School's Planetarium / Observatory

Trinity students can experience first-hand that, "the heavens declare the glory of God..." (Psalm 19:1) Scheduled visits to the on-campus Planetarium/Observatory allow each grade level to become familiar with the night sky.

In the Planetarium students experience the dazzling display of over 3000 stars projected against a deep black sky completely free of light pollution. The projector is timed to mimic the Earth's rotation so that one hour is reduced to 10 seconds. Students learn to identify and locate many stars and all twelve constellations.

Contained within the climate-controlled, free-standing planetarium/observatory is a Starlab model SL-220 projector and a 10-inch, Schmidt-Cassegrain reflector telescope.

Live video of the night sky is fed directly from the telescope - which is perched on the second story under its weather-resistant dome. It is vividly presented on a giant, high-definition flat screen monitor in the safety and comfort of the Planetarium.
